This air fryer could be a good investment if you’re looking to use your oven less

Ovens could be costing households a small fortune to run – which is why many are looking to invest in an air fryer.

They use less energy to run than conventional ovens.

The exact amount it will cost you to run your air fryer depends on a number of things like the model you have and your tariff.

Uswitch estimates that while it costs around 17p to cook the chicken in an oven, it costs about half that – just under 8p – in an air fryer.

This one in the Amazon Prime Day early access sale costs £55, down from £69.

It has a capacity of 3.5L, and you can use it to fry your food 30% faster and with 99% less fat than what is would usually have.

It’s non-stick too, so should make it easier to clean.

Thermostatic radiator valves can help to lower heating costs

As millions worry about whether they can afford to put the heating on this winter, investing in thermostatic radiator valves could help keep costs under control.

You can limit or turn off the flow of gas into the radiator while the central heating is on.

This will allow you to only heat the rooms you want to, meaning there is no need to turn on every radiator in the house just to heat up over the coming winter.

Thermostatic radiator valves can cost you around £35 per unit though, which means they can be expensive.

This one is on sale for much less though at £11.04 in the Amazon Prime Day sale.

You can monitor the temperature your radiator is at using it – and the gadget is claimed to save 6% off heating costs.
